Nancy O'Dell started her career in broadcasting as an anchor at WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later she was a morning-news anchor and crime report at WCBD TV. Her articles from Charleston, about how the Charleston police handled DUI cases in a manner that was lenient, led to an inquiry by State Law Enforcement Division. The investigation resulted a stricter direction for state officials. The Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell with her Best Report of the year Award for all South Carolina media. O'Dell's experience in Charleston has led to her serving as a co-anchor, reporter and anchor for NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Prior to she joined Access Hollywood she was a weekday co-anchor as well as the NBC weekend co-anchor. O'Dell's current role as a host on Access Hollywood is complemented by her contributions to NBC News Today, Dateline NBC as well as NBC News. She has covered such events including The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as and co-hosted a variety of Pre-ShowArrivals shows for The Emmys and the Golden Globes. Co-hosted The Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
